BestOf.ad for iPhone

Editorial information

A BestOf selection, a Google rating and text written after a visit mean different things. Here is how to read them.

BestOf’s role

BestOf.ad is a guide published by 21 Million SLU. Publishing a listing, assigning its category and choosing places to feature are BestOf editorial decisions. The home-page selection is separate from the automatic ranking and does not by itself mean a place has been visited.

The guide is not presented as an official tourism service. A listing or selection does not imply affiliation with the establishment, Google or Apple.

Google ratings and BestOf rankings

The displayed Google rating and review count come from the catalogue’s Google data. These are not reviews collected or verified by BestOf. BestOf rankings use those inputs, but the displayed Google rating is not replaced by the ranking score.

To be ranked, a place must be published, listed as operating, be in an eligible category, have a rating and at least 200 Google reviews, and not be excluded from rankings. “Operating” does not mean “open at this moment”.

The calculation weights the rating by review volume, with a reference weight of 400 reviews at 4.30, or at the place’s own rating if lower. This tempers high ratings backed by fewer reviews. Equal scores are separated by review count; if that is also equal, the places share a rank.

Categories, territories and the Best Of badge

All eligible places can rank in their category. National and parish rankings cover restaurants, bars, cafés, bakeries, accommodation, skiing and mountain activities, excluding establishments identified as chains. A chain can still have a category rank.

The Best Of badge means a place is in the national top 100, category top 10 or parish top 10. An unranked place can remain in the catalogue. These rules and the available data do not amount to a comprehensive award list or endorsement by Google.

Descriptions and personal visits

General descriptions may be produced with AI assistance. They may contain errors and are not evidence of a visit. If a description is missing in your chosen language, the app may show its English version.

Only text marked “Written after a personal visit” is presented as coming from a visit. The personal Our selection and Experience sections do not substitute another language when they are unavailable in your chosen language. The label does not automatically apply to the entire listing, its photos or Google reviews.

Photos and information freshness

Photos may come from external services and can become unavailable. A replacement icon is not a photograph of the establishment. Displaying an image does not grant a right to reuse it.

A listing loaded now may contain older data. A loading or synchronization date is not a visit date or a recent confirmation by the establishment. Check opening hours, prices, access and the services important to your visit directly.

Corrections and reports

To report a factual error, an unsuitable photo or a rights issue, email paul@21million.ad with the listing link, the item concerned and useful details. Reports let us consider a correction; they do not automatically change a ranking.
